BRENNAN'S PRIDE EnterpriZes
CERAMICS, ETC.
November 2008
It has been a long while since I updated this site. We had a lot of damage on the business property from Hurricane Ike. The roof was half ripped off leaving the shop in a very bad mess. The force of the wind and water made the ceiling drop and melt that nasty white stuff all over everything. Compared to many others we are not suffering much from the effects of the storm. I was astonished at just how powerful a storm like that is.
Anyway, we are on the road to repair and have a lot of new plans. The most important change in plans is that we will be staying in the Alvin area for at least the foreseeable future. Because of the damage from the storm and the current economic state, we have decided to return to our home in Alvin and make repairs there. We are also repairing the business property and will lease it when it is ready. Jim will continue his kiln service and repair business and I will continue to teach and participate in craft shows.
We will continue to supply you with Colorific Porcealon; Rex Tools, Form-A-Leaf, Donhue and Doc Holliday acrylics and Colors-For-Earth fired color. Things are in a mess right now, but, if you give me a call, I will do my best to find what you want.
I taught in Lexington, Kentucky, at the Doc Holliday Mold Company headquarters November 10 through the 14th. I taught 3 projects: the large driftwood wolf stack (wetbrushing); Chili's on a tile (Colors-For-Earth); and a pen and ink Christmas dog on the oval Doc Holliday box. I will be happy to teach these projects here at the shop by appointment or teach classes at other shops that would like me to come to them. Just give me a call at 832-621-5338 if any of the projects on this web site interest you and we will see if we can come to an agreement on when and where we can get together on them.
We will still be moving to Denver at some point. That will be when our property here in Texas is sold and it is anybody's guess when that might happen....Just remember you can reach me at 832-621-5338 anytime and Jim can be reached for kiln problems at 832-385-6831. Those are our only contact numbers now, but they will be good when we move, so you will always be able to reach us. Jim and I both have plans of coming back to Texas for various reasons, both business and personal, so we won't just disapear. Likewise, our friends in Denver will still be able to contact us when we are not in Colorado.
If you would like to view the Doc Holliday Seminar, go to www.dochollidaymolds.com and click on seminars and November 2008 to see the pictures. Teaching the seminar was a lot of fun and I have a lot of new ideas to share with all of you.
We plan on having weekend seminars at our home in Alvin after we get settled in. The first one will be in the spring of 2009. Watch here for more information to come. Jim and I will be on the road a good deal of the time until after January 1st, so I'm not taking on any new projects until after the first of the year.
Jim and I wish you all a very happy holliday season and a very Merry Christmas!!!
